That congenital condition was not surprising when Lizaida Morales’ daughter was born with a heart defect. It had been detected before she was born, and that diagnosis saved her life. Sophia underwent open-heart surgery, a six-hour operation, at 3 days of age. “So, every day I’m reminded of not only how blessed I am to have her here,” the Red Lion resident said, “but also how far we’ve come with science, research, and medical advancements.” She told the story about Sophia at an American Heart Association event, and it was well received.

Unstoppable You Conference in York


YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — Efforts continue to raise awareness about issues impacting communities in the region. Dozens of people of all ages gathered at the Jewish Community Center in York for the sixth Unstoppable You conference in the White Rose City on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The event covers several topics including raising awareness about human trafficking, domestic violence, youth empowerment, and overcoming adversity.

Organizers say it is important people have a better understanding of issues that are weakening neighborhoods in York County and the surrounding region.

“We want to be proactive by providing public education about domestic violence and human trafficking and homelessness so we can prevent these issues from happening in our homes and in our communities,” Jennifer Foxworthy, founding president and CEO of Unstoppable Your Ministries, said.

Several leaders in the region, including York Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow, spoke at the conference on Saturday.

Unstoppable You Conference helps empower, educate, and inspire

York County, PA — A conference was held in York to raise awareness about issues within our communities.

The Unstoppable You Conference was held in York on Saturday at the Jewish Community Center.

The purpose of the Unstoppable You Conference is to educate, empower, and inspire attendees to grow personally and professionally in all areas of their lives.

The conference focused on emergency services, public education/training and supportive resources to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, human trafficking, and homelessness.

“Many people realize that one person can experience all three. So it’s important if they want to make a difference in their lives, their family lives and beyond to know about these issues, “said Jennifer Foxworthy the Founder and CEO of Unstoppable You Ministries.

Conference speakers included York City Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow, Jason L. Phillips, Juliet Sharrow, Elaine Bonneau, Lizaida Morales, and Shamere McKenzie.

This was the 23rd Unstoppable You Conference within eight years, across nine states, and the 6th in York.
